You must register the VES-AF within 30 days to be able to receive warranty service.

Ocutech, Inc. warrants the VES-Autofocus Low Vision Telescope (hereafter VES-AF) to be free from defects in material and workmanship under the following terms:

HOW LONG IS THE WARRANTY: Parts are warranted for 1 year from the date of purchase of the VES-AF. Labor is warranted for a period of 90 days from the date of purchase.

WHO IS PROTECTED: This warranty may be enforced only by the first consumer purchaser.

WHAT IS COVERED AND WHAT IS NOT COVERED: Except as specified below, this warranty covers all defects in material and workmanship in this product. The following are not covered by the warranty:

1. Any product not properly registered with Ocutech, Inc. by use of the registration card provided.

2. Any product not purchased through professional prescribers who have taken responsibility for the appropriateness of the prescription and for the training of the user in the proper use and care of the VES-AF.

3. Any product with the serial number defaced or removed.

4. Damage, deterioration or malfunction resulting from:

a. accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning, or other acts of nature, unauthorized product modification, or failure to follow instructions supplied with this product.

b. repair or attempted repair by anyone not authorized by Ocutech, Inc.

c. any shipment of the product.

d. any cause that does not relate to a product defect.

WHAT WE WILL PAY FOR AND WHAT WE WILL NOT PAY FOR: We will pay for all labor and material expenses for covered items, but we will not pay for the following:

1. Shipping charges for repairs. We will, however, pay for return shipping charges for repairs made under warranty.

2. Costs to have the VES-AF refitted by your prescriber.

3. Costs associated with professional services paid to others regarding the use and/or function of the VES-AF, even if such service resulted in a warranted repair of the VES-AF.

HOW YOU CAN GET WARRANTY SERVICE:

1. All returns must be made through the prescriber. Ocutech will not accept repairs directly from the consumer.

2. Shipments must be insured.

3. Your prescriber will be responsible for all communication regarding the VES-AF. A description of the problem must accompany any repair return.

NON-WARRANTY REPAIRS: VES-AF devices not under warranty will be repaired at the user's expense. Upon receipt of the VES-AF a quote will be made for repair charges. These must be paid by check or charge prior to repair of the system. If payment is not received within 30 days after repair quotes, the system will be returned COD without repair. All non-warranted repairs are guaranteed for 90 days parts and labor. WARRANTY EXTENSION: The benefits of the warranty may be extended for one year for $195, or for three years for $500. This warranty will cover both materials and labor according to the terms listed above.
