Ocutech Vision Enhancement Systems (VES)

The Ocutech Vision Enhancement System® (VES®-II) is an innovative low vision bioptic telescope system for the visually impaired, developed and tested with funding from the National Eye Institute. It comes in 3x, 4x, and 6x powers. However, the 4X is the primary power used. It may be focused from distance to as close as twelve inches.

Ocutech VES® Systems are appropriate for a variety of bioptic telescope applications for near, intermediate and far distances, and for a full range of visual activities as determined to be appropriate by the prescriber. Responsive visual diagnoses include macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, Stargardt's Disease, Hereditary macular degeneration, albinism, high myopia, nystagmus, coloboma, optic atrophy, macula holes, achromatopsia as well as many other disorders

It has become a common system we use for bioptic drivers and a system which many patients wear full time. The eyepiece is designed to be placed just above the viewing eye. The VES System from above. The VES®-II offers significant improvements in field of view, image brightness, contrast and a natural rectangular image shape. The manual focus knob is located in the middle of the VES system. The VES System has a sliding filter window.  VES is useful for distance viewing activities including bioptic driving.
