Manual VES by Ocutech

Vision Enhancement System

The Ocutech Vision Enhancing System® (VES®-II) is an innovative low vision bioptic telescope system for the visually impaired, developed and tested with funding from the National Eye Institute.

It comes in 3x, 4x, and 6x powers. However, the 4X is the primary power used. It may be focused from distance to as close as twelve inches.

A National Eye Institute funded study found excellent patient acceptance. It has become a common system we use for bioptic drivers and a system which many patients wear full time.

Two screws below the Ocutech allow adjustment of the Ocutech laterally.

The eyepiece is designed to be placed just above the viewing eye.

The VES System from above. The VES®-II offers significant improvements in field of view, image brightness, contrast and a natural rectangular image shape.

The manual focus knob is located in the middle of the VES system.

Patient is shown focusing the VES.

The VES System has a sliding filter window.  Here the system is open with the window pushed to the side.

Here the filter window is pushed across the optical system to reduce glare.

VES is useful for distance viewing activities including bioptic driving.

A simple tilting down of the head allows the patient to view through the VES.
