The Chadwick-Mins Sectorial Lens

The original Mins lens could only be used to block the entire lens.

Our practice working with Chadwick Laboratories has developed a sector approach to use the Mins lens by fusing the clear prescription lens with a Mins lens.

The first prototype has been used successfully in a pituitary tumor patient with a bitemporal hemianopsia (loss of the outer vision of each eye) combined with constant diplopia with hemifield slide..

his unique Sectorial Mins Lens blocks the straight ahead vision in the left eye while allowing the patient to still use clear nasal portion to see to the right.  From 15 feet the clear lens and Mins sector blend together for a good cosmetic appearance.

In this case, we have also applied a field expanding prism to the right lens.
